With a little imagination, you occasionally imagine yourself in the southern German Black Forest: the forests, streams, castles and manor houses, the whole region bears striking similarities to its famous namesake, but still... it's just Twente.

Under imposing, metre-high deciduous trees with their expansive crowns meander beautiful, slightly hilly paths and romantic roads. Before enjoying these, after the (shopping and catering) centre, you first walk through the built-up area and on country roads and grass paths through the Middelveen to and through the woods of the Rijssense and Brekel fields.
